I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
